The R66T Academy has recently partnered with Kings Camps. The partnership will see R66T Academy Coaches support and actively deliver softball cricket sessions on selected Kings Camps this summer. The camps will take place across various locations in the UK at Kings Camps venues.
The Kings Camps vision is to get children active, having fun and learning together which is in-keeping with The R66T Academy’s mission to provide more opportunities for everyone, everywhere to play and enjoy cricket.
As part of delivering the Kings Camps, we’re looking for sports coaches who are able to coach our cricket practices to children on the Camps this summer.
R66T Academy Kings Camps Coach - Job Description
As part of our team on the camps, you will work with a fellow coach to plan, prepare and deliver a range of softball cricketing activities to a group of 7-11 year old children.
You will be provided with an outline coaching plan for the week and pre-camp training. However, we are keen to encourage creativity and your individual input.
You will be charged with creating a fun, safe and positive learning environment for the participants incorporating small-sided games and the R66T Academy training aids Coaching Aids | The Root Academy R66T. All equipment will be provided by the R66T Academy.
During the week, as well as addressing basic cricket technique, you will challenge participants to be creative, to work as part of a team, to manage their learning independently and to be effective leaders and officials.
Camp Dates
Cambridge – The Perse School 7 – 11 August & 14 – 18 August
Edinburgh – Mary Erskine School 10 – 14 July & 24 – 28 July
Reading – Queen Anne’s School 24 – 28 July & 7 – 11 August
Wakefield – Silcoates School 31 July – 4 August & 14 – 18 August
£12 per hour
Essential
Experience of working with 7-11s in a sports coaching, education or activity setting
A passion for sports
Studying towards or already completed a degree in childcare, primary/secondary teaching, sports coaching or PE qualification
Strong Leadership and organisational skills
Vibrant, fun, confident personality
Commitment to high-quality customer service to parents and children
Team player with a willingness to adapt
A valid DBS certificate
Desirable
An NGB sports coaching qualification or equivalent in at least 2 different sports
Strong background in playing or officiating sports
A valid Paediatric First Aid qualification
