Following the launch of our QUALIFI Level 3 Diploma In The Principles Of Cricket Coaching, Matt and Joe Root, alongside our R66T Academy coaches, have discussed the importance of understanding the individual needs of players.
The R66T Academy is committed to ensuring all coaches have the opportunity to develop. Whether you're an experienced coach looking to upskill yourself, or want to start the process of becoming a cricket coach, our Coaching Diploma is suited to coaches at various stages of their coaching journey.
The content of the Diploma has been developed by R66T Academy coaches including Shaun Shaun Seigert, High Performance Director and former coach of Joe Root. The Diploma aims to upskill coaches on how to coach, not what to coach. Find out what our ambassadors and coaches think about our course:
Joe Root (England cricketer): "The higher up you go as a coach the more it becomes about understanding the personality of the player than anything else. How to talk to them, the language you use. Develop a relationship with the player or group and learn the things that make them tick.”
George Bartlett (BSc Honours Degree 1st Class in Sports Coaching): "The Diploma will allow you to learn from some of the very best players in the world. Given it is an Ofqual regulated qualification, it is a unique cricket coaching course and one that will stand out on any cricket coach's CV. Whether you are on the first step of your coaching journey, or have been a coach for a number of years, the Coaching Diploma is suited to all coaches looking to upskill themselves."
Nick Gaywood (ECB Level 2 coach): "Whether you are an aspiring coach, or well practised in the art, the Qualifi Level 3 Diploma in the Principles of Cricket Coaching will challenge you. The combination of academic theory and technical information sets the tone and you also have the space and time to think deeply about your coaching philosophy and how to ensure that all the players you coach receive a positive and thought provoking cricket experience."
Matt Root (R66T Academy Chairman): "Our diploma looks at coaching from a different perspective. Our intention is to raise the general level of coaching of players of any ability, while equipping coaches with a formal qualification. We suggest how players should be coached, not what they should be coached. We invite coaches to think about how they can apply their coaching skills to help players develop their natural talents and by designing the diploma as a fully online program, we hope to raise the level of coaching all over the world."
