The R66T Academy’s mission is to provide cricketing opportunities for all players, regardless of their ability, around the world to play and enjoy cricket. By becoming Global Sponsor of the USYPL this cements the R66T Academy's focus and intention to provide opportunities in the United States. 

 

The USYPL recently announced the launch of its inaugural U15 and U19 seasons, set to be held at Hanson/Bolen fields in Washington D.C. The tournament, which is scheduled for July 17-21 for the U15 & U19 categories, has already generated significant interest from young cricketers across the United States. 

 

As part of the R66T Academy’s mission, the business has already begun to provide opportunities in the United States having ran a High-Performance Camp in Baltimore, Maryland, with further camps launched in Orlando, Florida, Houston, Texas and New Jersey. 

 

Chandra Sabbavarpu, Chairman of USYPL said: "We are delighted to announce R66T academy’s support for the Global sponsorship and conducting high-performance camps. The programme includes coaching sessions on technique skills, mental skills, tactical sessions, conditioning [including fitness testing], functional strength, competitive games, center wicket training, fielding, recovery, goal setting and self-reflection."

With registrations now open, the tournament promises to showcase some of the country's most promising young cricketing talent. The tournament is set to take place in an outdoor setting and will host teams from all over the country. 

 

As part of the sponsorship, the R66T Academy will be running coaching and mentoring sessions throughout the tournament. More details will be released about these sessions closer to the time. 

 

The tournament will follow the popular T20 format, and the draft is scheduled to take place on June 2nd, 2023. A total of four franchise teams have already been confirmed, with two teams representing Virginia and two representing Maryland. The tentative match schedules for both the 15U and 19U groups are illustrated below.
