The R66T Academy T20 Cup set to return in 2024

Following the success of the inaugural R66T Academy T20 Tournament in August 2023, we are excited to announce that The R66T Academy T20 Cup will return in 2024 - only this time, it will be even bigger and better!
Our first-ever T20 competition took place at Abbeydale Park in Sheffield earlier this year, with four teams - comprising of 12 players from different cricket clubs from around the country - competing for the inaugural winners trophy.
Each player was drafted into a franchise team and represented either 'Root's Risers', 'Stokes' Stars', 'Duckett's Diamonds' or 'Archer's ACE's'. The four sides also had their own unique playing shirt, with players keeping their match jersey after the event. In the morning, we held two semi-finals, with the fixtures generated at random. It was Archer's ACE's and Duckett’s Diamonds who made it to the showpiece final, with the former coming out on top in the afternoon.
R66T Academy coaches were in attendance to support the players during the day, with local umpires also ensuring the games were managed correctly. At the end of the day, we held a presentation, with prizes awarded for the best batter, best fielder, best bowler and the 'champagne moment'.
We are currently in the process of finalising the details for our 2024 T20 Cup, and we will confirm all relevant information in due course. However, we are able to confirm that next year’s tournament will consist of 4-6 regional qualifiers, with a Finals Day held later in the summer.
